Sacred Pause

'Sacred Pause' is a Buddhist concept that invites you to intentionally step away from the hustle of daily life for reflection and restoration. This mindful pause can disrupt the trance of habitual thoughts, patterns, and reactions, providing the space essential for gaining a broader perspective. By regularly practicing a Sacred Pause, you can reconnect with the refuge of solitude within yourself and experience a deeper connection with others.

Join me, Taylor Chang, as I hold space for your Sacred Pause. Each month, I will share poetry, concepts, and art from wisdom traditions around the world for discussion and contemplation. This will be followed by gentle embodiment practices and a sound journey using crystal bowls, gongs, ocean drums, chimes, and flutes. The harmonious resonance and frequencies created by these instruments will invite your mind to settle, allowing you to melt into a state of deep relaxation and restoration.

Following the sound bath, you'll have the opportunity to slowly integrate your experience with new friends over warm tea and light seasonal snacks.

Prior meditation, yoga, or sound experience is not needed to join. This workshop is for people who are interested in mindfulness, self-reflection, and contemplation! Beyond self exploration, the intention of this series is to foster a community of seekers who are invested in understanding the modern day human experience through the lens of ancient traditions.

  • Anything that will allow for maximum comfort. Yoga mat, pillow for your head, socks, water, journal, and anything additional that would allow you to settle into a deep state of relaxation.

    *blankets and eye masks will be provided, but if you would like to bring your own, you are always more than welcomed. 

  • not at all! This experience is open to everyone and will consist of accessible concepts/practices.

  • there is both free and paid street parking, as well as bus access. It is a busy area so please allow yourself enough time to park and get settled in by 7 pm.
